If I had just the motor, with everything cut off, and not sure quite what yardman it came from, but that I want to get it working on it’s own, is the piece of rubber on a cap thing on the crank-case for a fuel pump? Is there any way to make it run on gravity? I have a bare motor and want to make it run, and this video is the closest thing to “help” that I’ve found.

  7. ThePeoplesuk says:

Excellent video, but I think it would be even better if you explained how each part works individually and together. True, you’d need more time, but why not go the whole nine yards? Thanx.

Please someone tell, It doesn’t matter who. Does it matter how many turns it takes you to remove, and replace a jet.

  9. shinboston says:

Thanks for hosting his video Mark! I used these directions to fix the carburetor on my mower earlier today. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this video, and thus it saved me money.

I have a Honda lawn mower. last week it started for 3 good minutes but then stopped, then I started again. It ran for another 3 minutes, working fine, then just stopped again.
I saw your video and I took off the carburetor and cleaned it, and I put it back. But still the same problem =|.
    I didn’t change O-rings.
Do I have to clean again? or get a NEW carburetor? Is there any any store I can get cheap parts?

  16. mykos163 says:

My lawn mower Is years old, we cleaned it out but the screw underneath the bowl broke not sure if my dad got a new one yet… But the lawn mower doesn’t start at all even with the cold start button and the gas is completely gone after a day or two if left in the tank. I’m confused

  25. birdeswashington says:

Thanks your info did help me my mower ran last summer will not start I have changed all fluids and the pulg

  26. starhopper457 says:

Just for grins, I’d check in the other direction as well… blocked exhaust port. If that’s plugged, she won’t start.

  27. felipevinalay says:

my have the same problem where can I get that tool for adjust the carburetor? and now it won’t start.

  28. donyboy73 says:

might be flooded, u may also need a new carb kit or carburetor

  29. brodriguezz88 says:

I got the tool but can seem to get this string trimmer to run. I have screwed in both the H and L speed needles all the way and backed out 2 turns as per the Zama instructions. I prime the bulb 10x per start up procedure and pull 5xs on full choke then move to the mid choke position and fuel just sputters out of the throttle throat. Are my gaskets shot on the carb?

  30. webfox1 says:

Good video! Thanks for sharing what you know. I probably need that tool you mentioned. Mine runs but won’t stay running. Thanks again.

  31. s37d says:

i had one of these weedeaters and it wouldn’t even stay running unless I held it full throttle, and then only barely…I ebay’d the carb tool for $10 and after just one clockwise turn of the high speed needle it was fine…came from the factory all wrong for my area of the country

  32. Vikingstw says:

It’s a great video thanks for Posting.

  33. brodriguezz88 says:

do they sell this tool at a sears or a harbor freight?

  34. avdawg829 says:

what is the name of that carb adjustment tool

  35. nate chapin says:

    this is help full thanks

  36. TimSDobson says:

Well We cant get the tool around here in Ontario Canada, so wta we do here is take the cap off of a spark plug. use a dremel tool scribe a slot for a flat head screw driver, then i tap it onto the screw on the weed eater. since the cap from the spark plug is aluminum it takes the shape of the metal adjustment screw on the weed-eater. I an adjust 50-60 units a year with this simple trick.

  37. traxxastmax1 says:

what type of tool do u use to ajust it i dont know what its called

  38. donyboy73 says:

THIS ONE IS A ZAMA, BUT LOOK ON UR CARB TO SEE IF IT SAYS WALBRO OR ZAMA

  39. JennaRoseNumberOne says:

Is that a Zama carb? Mine has the same one and I’m trying to figure out which primer bulb to buy on flea bay.

  43. donyboy73 says:

might get more carbon build up

  44. sasserdave says:

so would it hurt to use a 40:1 in my 50:1

  45. donyboy73 says:

    50:1 is less oil than 40:1, i use 45:1

  46. sasserdave says:

hey quick question my homlite calls for a 50:1 oil and gas ratio could i use a 40:1 or do i need more oil for the 50:1 or is it less?

  47. donyboy73 says:

some have one adj. screw, some have 2 and some are non adjustable, in that case maybe a new carb kit can fix it

  48. smooretogo says:

The xt 250 carb doesn’t seem to have the (2) adjustment screws. It’s a smaller carb too… Any advice?

    Thx
    SM
