3 people don’t know how an engine works

  2. donyboy73 says:

that may have been for the handle or a buffer

    Hi donyboy73,

I have a question for you, I have a older rancher 50 (white top) and I noticed that besides the decompression valve, there is a smaller threaded hole what is the purpose of that hole?

  4. donyboy73 says:

i also use permatex motoseal, better in gas environments

  5. seniorjohnl says:

I am suprized to see you using RTV/Silicone as a sealer in a gasoline environment. It’s OK for oil but gas tends to break it down pretty badly. Have been told Hondabond/Yamabond is the best way to go on sealing lower ends.

I have a 30 year old homelite bandit chainsaw engine and I am also rebuilding it. It is the first engine I have rebuilt and I am so excited!

    thanks for the info

  9. donyboy73 says:

i used gas and a paintbrush, i just stick a rag in the case to prevent dirt from going in. then u can vaccuum out any dirt if some got in

  10. DemonOn2Wheels224 says:

@donyboy73 what did you use to clean it before it was all dirty, and how did you manage to not get any dirt/dust get in the crankcase when you were cleaning and such

  11. blazterreck says:

  12. donyboy73 says:

I really didnt know if I was gonna end with some few extra bolts… but I manage to get a diagram of the parts from a website. the Intake booth was a little pain …. but we made it, and I was so happy!! Thank you for the awesome videos donyboy!

  14. donyboy73 says:

  16. donyboy73 says:

blue loctite and motoseal rtv silicone

  17. azfires000 says:

Ok, thank you! Do you recommend to use loctite on the cylinder head bolts? if yes Blue or red? or RTV Silicone ?

  18. donyboy73 says:

no videos yet but it the same idea as any other rebuild, be careful with the intake boot

  19. donyboy73 says:

I USED GAS AND A PAINT BRUSH IN A CONTAINER OUTSIDE AWAY FROM ANY SPARKS OR FIRE HAZARDS, if dirt fell in the crank case i would vacuum it out with a shop vac

  20. azfires000 says:

What did you use on cleaning the saw? and how? special way donyboy73…? lol How do you clean if dirt fell in the crank?

  21. azfires000 says:

    Thank you.

  22. azfires000 says:

Thats what i figure, be the best for the saw. Now the head has some scraches from the rings on the front (only) and they seem to look in good condition, as far the fron thebottom looks like stuck on in…
Have you have any videos on the 575xp? as far to rebuilt?

  23. donyboy73 says:

it would be better with the head off especially with such an expensive saw

  24. azfires000 says:

Thats what i been looking for, a step by step process of the re-built. I dont wanna do it but…
My question is, I have a 575 XP Husqvarna chain saw. I need to retap the spark plug. I never done it before so Im nervous about it. Do you recomend to remove the head or do it on place? Im just worry about the shavings of the retap.
    Thank you
    Dan
